The group seeks to find cases that have not previously been investigated, and to assist those individuals who suspect that their homes, places of business or other properties may be haunted. While the core of MPI has always been a purely scientific one, the group began including the intuitive (or "psychic") talents of Dr. Rita Louise in 2004. The group performs an average of 2 investigations per month. The members of the group are area representatives for the American Ghost Society. Among other media, the group has been featured in the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram, and on KXAS TV in Dallas and KVUE TV in Austin.

Intuitive/Clairvoyant - Dr. Rita Louise, Ph.D.

Dr. Louise is a Naturopathic Physician, a 20-year veteran in the Human Potential Field, and the author of the book The Power Within. She attended Berkeley Psychic Institute and has achieved the status of Reiki Master and Certified Hypnotherapist. She currently runs a private practice and is a professor of Health Studies at Westbrook University. She also frequently serves as a media consultant.
